>culture change services
If only corporations could use the Captain Jean-Luc Picard approach from Star Trek when the captain says, ‘Make it so' and it happens. No amount of ‘make it so' communication, training or rewards will lead to culture change. Unfortunately there are three phases of culture change that need to be addressed with techniques specific to whole-systems change.
- A period of Awakening when the way the current culture is operating and how it supports and/or gets in the way of future success is recognized
- A time of Transition when misaligned beliefs, practices and behaviors are called into question and new beliefs, behaviors and practices tried out
- Which leads to Institutionalization, when training, coaching and consequences embed new culture patterns and adaptation occurs over time
How can we help?
From getting the organization ready for its first culture survey through action planning and design of culture change interventions, we have resources to help. With a team of internal staff, plus Qualified Associates and Alliance Partners ready to work with our diagnostics, we are able to:
- Prepare the executive team for their role in whole-system culture change
- Facilitate action planning meetings
- Provide culture tools for leadership development
- Create and facilitate simulations that offer safe environments to try new behaviors
- Redesign organization practices to support new culture patterns
- Engage groups in appreciating the culture patterns they are demonstrating and how these can be better aligned with future direction
- Strengthen brand delivery
- Provide train-the-trainer sessions for use of tools such as customized Culture Snapshots
- Recommend how to redesign physical space to support culture and more.
What's different about our approach? Many years ago we were privileged to be able to observe the merger between Sprint and PCS. We spent a full year observing the new leadership team and what they did. After only a few months, a significant culture change occurred and we set about to find the secrets of this accelerated culture change. With ten years of research behind us we are able to bring high impact approaches that avoid setting up defensive reactions to change.

“All businesses are faced with significant ongoing change in today’s market. Success directly relates to how you help your organization understand and manage change. This requires considerations of strategic planning, current state assessments, corrective action evaluation, implementation planning, communication development and delivery, and work force capability development. CSF has a proven track record with my sales units in being able to help in all these critical areas.”
